I think the final number was 110. 110 faces. 220 eyes staring. 1 girl stood alone in the spotlight. Eyes wide. Voice shaky.
" Don't look at me "
The music started and she shut her eyes...
" Let faith arise oh Lord, let faith arise... "
With tears on her cheeks she began to move.
" In the most broken parts of me oh Lord..."
As she beagn to dance I saw her forget about the world. I watched 220 eyes turn into 2. The Only 2 eyes that matter. I watched a wide eyed shaky girl turn into a graceful warrior. I watched her insecurities vanish.
" Where friends have failed me Lord, let my faith arise..."
As she danced she bared her soul and I could see the hurt and pain that she's very good at hiding. Hurt and pain that's my fault. Hurt and pain that she hasn't let stop her from loving with her whole heart.
" I say no to the discouragment that keeps me down... "
She conquered pride with a single spin and set captives free with every step.
I watched as she let herself be led in the dance.
I watched as she marched into battle.
I watched as she won.
And then the music stopped.
But her face was glowing for the rest of the night...
Will we ever know the extent of what she did in front of 220 eyes?
What was accomplished?
What was destroyed?
What was reclaimed?
" You're building my faith up again..."
